英语演讲稿1

  Good aftemoon, everyone !

The topic of my speech today is " Being a Good Listener". Good listening can always show

respect, promote understanding, and improve interpersonal relationship.

Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children, so they will understand

them better, and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their

students, then they can meet their needs better, and place themselves in a good relationship with their

students; students should listen more to their classmates, thus they will help and learn from each

other, and a friendship is likely to be formed.

What I want to stress is that each of us should listen more to others. Show your respect and never

stop others till they finish their talk. Show you are interested by a suppmtive silence or a knowing

smile. Be open-minded to different opinions even though you don't like them..ln a word, good

listening can really enable us to get closer to each other.

  Thank you for your listening!

I have met faculty across our schools who are expanding religious literacy; who are exploring the role of the arts in promoting justice; who are confronting the opioid epidemic from every angle; who are working to make state and local government more effective. Their work is nothing short of inspiring.

And I’ve come to know our students – absolutely amazing students. To the parents who are here, thank you, thank you for sending these remarkable young people to us. They are nothing short of inspiring. Interacting with them is one of the great privileges of living and working on a college campus. Adele and I have had dinner with them in the Houses. We’ve watched them perform on the stage and on the playing fields. I’ve met with them during office hours and talked to them as I’ve gone running with them. If you spend time with our students, you cannot help but feel optimistic about our future.

This past week, I had lunch with thirty graduating seniors. It was wonderful to hear how they think they have changed and matured during their four years here. I actually asked them how is your current self different from your 18-year-old self that arrived here on campus, and the stories were marvelous. And I’ve witnessed this process of transformation myself.

I helped to advise three of our incoming first-year undergraduates this year, and they helped me experience and understand Harvard through their eyes. To Andrew, Claire, and Karen, thank you for sharing your first year for [with] me and for teaching me so well.

英语演讲稿4

  Dear teachers and students: Hello!

The theme of my speech today is "study hard and make progress every day!"

It can be said that our whole life has been learning since our first birthday. Learning will never become a vulgar topic, but sometimes learning does not mean only reading books. The so-called "it's better to travel thousands of miles than to read thousands of books". Now we are college students, so we should pay attention to methods, imagination and creativity in our work and study, At the same time, the most important thing is to have full confidence in ourselves!

Napoleon Hill, the founder of success studies, said: "self confidence is the only channel for human beings to use and control the infinite wisdom of the universe, the foundation of all" miracles ", and the birthplace of all mysterious miracles that cannot be analyzed by scientific laws.

However, self-confidence is not attached to people for no reason. First of all, people should have real talent and learning, then they will have real self-confidence, and take it as an e_tremely useful driving force.

Therefore, we should be a person full of scr iptures first, and then full of self-confidence. Because self-confidence is just a kind of nihilistic power, if you want to succeed, you have to attach self-confidence to the "practical work" which burns self-confidence, so that self-confidence can give full play to its due strength.

We should also pay attention to learning methods.

Once upon a time, a Zen master led a group of disciples to a meadow. He asked his disciples how to get rid of the weeds on the grass. The disciples thought of various ways, such as pulling, shoveling, digging and so on. But Zen master said, this is not the best way. Because "the wildfire can't be burned out, and the spring wind blows again.".

What is the best way? Zen master said: you will know ne_t year.

In the ne_t year, the disciple came back and found that there were lots of grain growing in this grassland, and the original weeds could no longer be seen. The disciples realized that the best way was to grow grain on the grass.

This tells us that we should pay attention to methods, thinking and innovation in our study.

Students, the most e_pensive price in life is to wait for tomorrow, but tomorrow will never come again. Because it's today when I came, and only today is the most important day in my life; Only today is the only day we can grasp in our life; Only today is our only chance to surpass our opponents and ourselves. Don't place your hope on tomorrow. Hope will always be today and now!

Gentleman to self-improvement, let's use a serious attitude, starting from the small things, starting from me, good study, every day! Create a blue sky of our own.

  Thank you for your speech!

A little kid fell in love with another little kid, a school mate. Sometimes the kids think they fall in love when they have a crush on someone else in the class, when theyre eight or ten years old or something like that. So the eight-year-oldkid came back home and asked his father, “Father, is it expensive to be married?” And the father said, “Yes, son, it is very expensive.” So the son asked, “How much does it cost?” And the father said, “I dont know, son. Im still paying.”

As everyone knows,English is very important today. It has been used everywhere in the world. It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. If we can speak English well,we will have more chance to succeed.Because more and more people have taken notice of it,the number of the people who go to learn English has increased at a high speed. But for myself,I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness, but also because of my love for it.When I learn English, I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world. When I read English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation.

When I speak English, I can feel the confident from my words. When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese... I love English,it gives me a colorful dream.I hope I can travel around the world one day. With my good English, I can make friends with many people from different contries.I can see many places of great intrests.I dream that I can go to London, because it is the birth place of English. I also want to use my good English to introduce our great places to the English spoken people,I hope that they can love our country like us.

I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard study, one day I can speak English very well. If you want to be loved, you should learn to love and be lovable. So I believe as I love English everyday , it will love me too. I am sure that I will realize my dream one day! Thank you!

My home village is a small one. It’s in Yuxian county of Shanxi Province. Small as it is, it’s very beautiful.

There are many hills around my home village and they are more beautiful than some big mountains. In spring, we can fly kites which are made by ourselves on the top of the hills. The kites fly very high.In summer, the trees are green and the grass is green, too. It is green everywhere on the hills. There are so many wild apple trees on the hills. The wild apples are nice to eat. In autumn, the corns under and around the hills are ripe. So we eat them almost every day. In winter, when it snows, all the ground is covered with snow. We can play with snow and sometimes we eat the clean snow with sugar. In my hometown the sky is blue, the air is clean, the water is sweet and the people are very friendly. I love my hometown!

Eliminating or easing legal and cultural barriers so that more parents can make the choices that are right for their families is a core mission for our generation. We don’t label men “working men.” And it is my hope that by the time my daughter Arabella grows into a woman she will not be defined by whether she works inside or outside the home. She will simply be a woman, afforded the same opportunities as her male peers and equipped with the education and support she needs to fulfill her unique potential.

This is how I believe we will empower women – and in so doing, enable them to raise confident, empathetic, and ambitious sons and daughters, to propel unprecedented growth and job creation, and to cultivate a society that embraces the fullness of life, the dignity of work, and the gift of strong and flourishing families.

So today, I hope you will join me in imagining this future and working together to make it a reality- for our children, for our nations, and for the hope of a more vibrant and inclusive economy.

I Agree or not agree: the next twenty years from now on, students will not use printed books any more.

I don't think so. printed books won't be abandoned in such a short time. I admit that new technology is developing fast. Many advanced electronic products are gradually take the place of traditional tools. Just like in university, teachers like to use multimedia in class for it is quite convenient and efficient. However, for our student, it is not realistic to study completely by electronic products. There are many things need to recorded on books. Books are something meaningful and practical.

I should say, in our country, printed books wouldn't be abandoned within 20 years at least for two reasons. Firstly, books are classical container of knowledge. They accompany human to advance. A student without books could be someway ridiculous. Secondly, our country haven't developed so strong to make every student study by computer or other forms of electronic tools. And even after 20 years, the possibility is also very small. I also think it is unnecessary because books are cheap but useful and still meaningful.

英语演讲稿10

Good afternoon, everybody. I just want to say a few words about the landmark vote that the House of Representatives is poised to take today -- a vote that can bring us one step closer to making real the promise of quality, affordable health care for the American people.

For the better part of a year now, members of the House and the Senate have been working diligently and constructively to craft legislation that will benefit millions of American families and millions of American businesses who urgently need it. For the first time ever, they've passed bills through every single committee responsible for reform. They've brought us closer than we have ever been to passing health insurance reform on behalf of the American people.

Now is the time to finish the job. The bill that the House has produced will provide stability and security for Americans who have insurance; quality, affordable options for those who don't; and lower costs for American families and American businesses. And as I've insisted from the beginning, it is a bill that is fully paid for and will actually reduce our long-term federal deficit.

This bill is change that the American people urgently need. Don't just take my word for it. Consider the national groups who've come out in support of this bill on behalf of their members: The Consumers Union supports it because it will create -- and I quote -- "a more secure, affordable health care system for the American people."

The American Medical Association and the American Nurses Association support it on behalf of doctors and nurses and medical professionals who know firsthand what's broken in our current system, and who see what happens when their patients can't get the care they need because of insurance industry bureaucracies.

The National Farmers Union supports this bill because it will control costs for farmers and ranchers, and address the unique challenges rural Americans face when it comes to receiving quality care.

And the AARP supports it because it will achieve the goal for which the AARP has been fighting for decades -- reducing the cost of health care, expanding coverage for America's seniors, and strengthening Medicare for the long haul.

Now, no bill can ever contain everything that everybody wants, or please every constituency and every district. That's an impossible task. But what is possible, what's in our grasp right now is the chance to prevent a future where every day 14,000 Americans continue to lose their health insurance, and every year 18,000 Americans die because they don't have it; a future where crushing costs keep small businesses from succeeding and big businesses from competing in the global economy; a future where countless dreams are deferred or scaled back because of a broken system we could have fixed when we had the chance.

What we can do right now is choose a better future and pass a bill that brings us to the very cusp of building what so many generations of Americans have sought to build -- a better health care system for this country.

Millions of Americans are watching right now. Their families and their businesses are counting on us. After all, this is why they sent us here, to finally confront the challenges that Washington had been putting off for decades -- to make their lives better, to leave this country stronger than we found it.

I just came from the Hill where I talked to the members of Congress there, and I reminded them that opportunities like this come around maybe once in a generation. Most public servants pass through their entire careers without a chance to make as important a difference in the lives of their constituents and the life of this country. This is their moment, this is our moment, to live up to the trust that the American people have placed in us -- even when it's hard; especially when it's hard. This is our moment to deliver.

I urge members of Congress to rise to this moment. Answer the call of history, and vote yes for health insurance reform for America.

英语演讲稿11

As the saying goes, what wakes you up in the morning is not your alarm clock, but you dream. The future is unknowable, but dream give us the direction some moment maybe the reality is harsh and you are suffering much. If you have a dream, even a very small one, it will light your life in the darkness and keep you hiding from the reality, for dream will give you the energy to fight.

However, sometimes it seems that what is practical and sensible does not connect with your most treasured dreams. I am a freshman, indeed my college life is not as colorful as imagined before, all plans and goals just be hung up. I'm very afraid that even if I graduated from college, I still couldn't find a job and then had a better life. Faced with the cruel reality, we college students should really make good use of these facilities and learn as much useful knowledge as possible. Then after graduation, we would find it's much easier to get a decent job.

When I am a little girl, my father gave me two cups filled with soil, he asked me to water one cup every day. Two weeks later, tender leaves appeared in the cup that I watered everyday. Father said to me:“The seed represents for your dream, without sweat and effort, it won't come out no means will your dream turn into reality if you never pay for it. ”

From this story I learn that If I intend to full my dreams, must work hard, make efforts, and get prepared, otherwise I will get no possibility to succeed.

  He rhythm of life

How well are we in tune with the rhythm of life? in our busy day to day eistence, we don't often stop to ask ourselves this question. at least i don't. and it wasn't until i joined a competitive sporting event that i learned a most important lesson – we must place our mind in harmony with the natural order of things to be successful.

Let me tell you what happened.

I decided to take part in an international marathon in my hometown last year. being an ambitious person, i hoped to finish it within 5 hours, accompanied by my friend with whom i had trained.

The big day finally arrived. “ready…set…bang” and we were off.

At first, we kept a rapid pace and ran nonstop. at this pace, we finished the first 20 kilometers in 2 hours and i thought running a marathon was a piece of cake. then my running mate began to slow down. i urged him to keep running at the same pace but he said no, he wanted to conserve his energy. i felt i had partnered with the wrong person, therefore, i sprinted on and left him behind in the dust.

A few kilometers later, i began to understand his strategy as my pace slowed to a jog then a walk. after that i was incapable of moving another step. i was humiliated as more and more people ran passed me. more than once i thought “maybe i should quit.” i started to doubt my ability to finish this race.

At this moment, my running mate caught up with me and slapped me on the back. “follow me,” he shouted. he had balanced his marathon pace and was encouraged me to do the same. for the rest of this grueling contest, we walked, jogged, ran a few miles, and walked again. slowly, painfully but hopefully this time, we established the most suitable pace within the natural flow of our physical capabilities.

eventually we accomplished our first marathon of 42 kilometers in 4 and half hours. i asked myself, what did this marathon mean to me? my marathon eperience became an influential metaphor for my life about how we must learn to pace ourselves in everything, by being in tune with the rhythm of life.

Like the tide that ebbs and flows, we must listen to advice but make our own decisions. like the show at dawn and dusk, we must learn to balance pride and modesty. and from the way the wind can both shout and whisper, we must learn when to be strong and when to be gentle, for everything moves in its own rhythm and its own yin and yang elements. it is the interaction of these complementary etremes that produces harmony, as laozi said, etremes meet. since the marathon, this notion of two opposite forces working together has been my running partner, so to speak. yin and yang eist everywhere, constantly interacting, and never eisting in an absolute condition.

Ladies and gentlemen, life is like running a marathon, let us discover, define and develop a natural rhythm of life, in order to achieve both harmony and success.

  Thank you for listening.

  Hello everybody!

My name is Chen Xuanlin. It is my pleasure to be here to share my opinions of growing pains.

Grow up, like a boat in my life, driving the wave surface. Sometimes, be in calm, sometimes be in rough. But the boat I was growing up, not everything is going. For me, sour, sweet, bitter,ho t,everything .

Now, as I grow up, are becoming adults, so in the eyes of parents, I was no longer to be a kid. Sometimes, they say "you've grown up,not a children!" When I listen to this,my head will be pain.

When I was a little boy, my life is so now, in front of the waves are bigger, and more twists and turns the sea,I become a middle school student, that I have all gone past. I'm taller, homework more, study more subjects, have more I was a boy, I am wrong no matter what happened, no one to blame now,if I do something wrong,my parents will shout. The relaxe time will far away from me.I will be more busy.

Study pressure always troubling me. Grown up, more work gradually like hills. After school, I do not dare to play, to see their favorite book, I'm afraid I can't complete the work, I can only try very hard to make the pen in my book on wave, for example, I have to run on the way home. The course also gradually heavy. Every home in the evening review, I looked at a lot of books, I really do not know to study what subject, is Chinese? Or math? Or geography? Or……

What should I do? To look life in the future.

  Dear teacher, dear students:

Is the topic of my speech today I love my country. Great writer Victor Hugo once said: "in a foreign land for a spring, it is better for one hundred winter in my hometown." Through this sentence I found, no matter what the ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign patriotic mood is the same.

From the founding of new China to Hong Kong in the return of Hong Kong, but with many patriotic heart, all over China. How can such a magnificent long because so little hard and broken? From all over the world in the Olympic Games to 08 year Olympic Games, China's every Chinese people, Chinese people want to do our best to do things by themselves.

Because with the patriotic faith so China in a session of the Olympic Games every four years sum of success every time. Those who do this isn't a sign of patriotic? Both miss homeland he grandpa, and patriotic engineer zhan tianyou, or coerced don't open the king of the second, are they not all with a sincere heart of patriotic?

Let us solemnly swear under the five-star flag: we are Chinese, we are the Chinese people. We should love our motherland. We are going to study hard, try my best to serve their country, to honor for his country.

My speech to this end, thank you!

英语演讲稿15

Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life. Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20.

Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spring back to dust. Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young. When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at 80.
